An Israeli health and beauty spa is offering a new service for its customers - a snake massage. The treatment consists of six non-venomous snakes massaging the client's aching muscles and joints for $70.

Located in northern Israel, Ada Barak's spa uses California and Florida king snakes, corn snakes and milk snakes for the massage.Barak believes that physical contact with the reptiles can be a soothing experience. She says that she was inspired by her belief that once people get over any initial misgivings, they find physical contact with the snakes to be soothing. Flickr is the online equivalent of that big box of pictures you have in your garage, only this box is digital and isn’t collecting dust. Most people know what Flickr is, but in case you don’t it is a photo-sharing website that offers image hosting at the low cost of free. They also have a pro account that unlocks several limits from the free account. They really have it right, and I don’t know of any other photo-sharing services that have the same caliber site or the same quality userbase.

In 2008, Amsterdam hosts its first edition of the Biennale, from 18 September to 2 November, under the theme Space and Place – Design for the Urban Landscape.

ExperimentaDesign Amsterdam 2008 highlights urban culture as the playground for the global citizen. The world’s cities are not only home to over half of the world’s population, they are also a metaphor for today’s cultures and a testing ground for new forms of conviviality and interaction. These photos are shot at a denim factory in Kentucky that specializes in distressing high-end jeans for a few top designers. I used to scoff at paying a premium for jeans that come with holes in them already. Then I saw just how much work goes into distressing jeans, and I realized that these people are artists. You can’t just have any loose threads, you have to have the right loose threads. They can’t just be faded. They have to be the right color. A lot of work goes into making these jeans look just right.
