Robo Japan 2008 Exhibition

Here are some of the friendly faces seen at the Robo Japan 2008 exhibition held at Pacifico Yokohama Hall this weekend.
The Kanagawa Institute of Technology exhibited Noir, a blue-eyed “grandchild” robot designed to communicate with and help take care of the elderly. Red Bull Air Race World Series

With the advent of Red Bull Air Race emerged and a new sports disciplines - air-slalom - a dynamic form of flight, which aims to pass a complex air routes with obstacles for the minimum time. Pilots perform a given year program in one, making abrupt turns and passing through a pair of specially designed pilonov a height of 20 meters, called "air gates".

World's Longest Keyboard

Jean Shin who design this interactive sculpture simply gave the name TEXTile. As the name suggest it's as smooth as the clothe made in Textile Mill.
The design includes more than 22,528 computers and 192 custom keycap which are attached with fabric, a custom keyboard and software assets as well as interactive video projection and painted aluminum frames. It sets out line by line transcript of the electronic communication that the artist and manufacturing in creating enabling it to sculpture in its own archives! The sapphire mines of Madagascar

The tiny village of Ilakaka, Madagascar had barely 40 residents before 1998. Then, a large deposit of sapphires was discovered along a nearby riverbed, and caught the eye of some Thai businessmen in the gem trade. Word got out, and Ilakaka swelled to tens of thousands of residents.
The center of a sapphire boom, today the source of nearly 50% of all the sapphires in the world. Illegal miners mixed with large-scale operations, all operating under little or no regulation, in a wild-west atmosphere of potential fortunes, lawlesness, violence and hardship.
