There are cultures of Carving (Sculpture) all over the world. For example, stone, tree, ice, and food.

Here, Takashi Itoh introduces the fruit-vegetable sculpture of the Kingdom of Thailand influenced most for his technique.

Art of Thai vegetable and fruit carving originated from the floating lantern festival (Loi Krathong Festival) of the kingdom of Thailand at Sukhothai dynasty 700 years ago. Check out 12 more pics after the jump.

Takashi Itoh spends 1 hour carving a Watermelon. If it's a simple character the time consumed is just 20 minutes.

He mastered the technique in 2001. He didn't had any teacher, he learned this art all by himself. It took him just 3 weeks to learn such awesome creativity.
